Time mastery for bedside nurses

Creating Calm inthe Chaos

The full-color workbook that turns a twelve-hour shift into something you run, instead of something that runs you.

Not a textbook. Not NCLEX prep. A practical guide and workbook that bridges the gap between what nursing school taught you and what the floor actually asks of you.

$34.99 · Paperback · Full color

You graduated. You passed the NCLEX. Then you walked onto the floor.

And realized nobody had taught you how to manage an entire shift.

How to hold five to seven patients in your head at once. How to decide what has to happen now and what can safely wait. How to call a provider without rehearsing it four times first.

How to chart without rewriting the entire day at 19:00. None of that is a knowledge gap. Nursing school gave you the clinical foundation. But knowing what to do and managing everything a real shift asks of you are two different things. That’s the gap this workbook was built to help close.

What changes

By the last page, you will have your own version of all of this.

Prioritize Competing Tasks

A repeatable way to prioritize competing tasks across a twelve-hour shift.

Think Ahead

A method for thinking two hours ahead instead of constantly reacting.

Communicate Clearly

Language for communicating clearly with providers, coworkers, patients and families.

Stay Organized

A system for staying organized without rewriting the entire chart.

Delegate with Confidence

The confidence to delegate, and a way to decide what to delegate.

Build Clinical Confidence

A framework that helps you trust your decisions, communicate clearly, and move through your shift with less second-guessing.

This isn’t another nursing textbook. It’s the guide experienced nurses wish they’d had during their first year at the bedside.

You don’t read it once and shelve it.

You write in it. You fill it in with your unit, your patient load and your own report sheet, so what comes out the other side is your system and not a generic one.

That’s why it’s full color and why it’s in print. It’s meant to be open on a table the night before a shift, not saved on your phone.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a digital version?

Not right now, and that’s intentional. This workbook was designed to be written in, marked up, and made your own. There’s something different about putting pen to paper, working through a problem, and building a system that reflects the way you actually practice. For now, Creating Calm in the Chaos is available exclusively as a physical workbook.

Do I need the workbook to book a Strategy Session?

No. They work well together, but neither depends on the other. The workbook gives you the system. The sessions help you apply it to your own shifts and practice.

Is this NCLEX prep or a clinical reference?

No. This isn’t NCLEX prep or a substitute for your facility’s clinical resources. It focuses on the part nursing school rarely has enough time to teach: how to organize, prioritize, communicate, and manage a real bedside shift.

I’m not a new grad. Is it still useful?

Yes. Most nurses who change specialties, come back from a break, or move to a heavier assignment find the same gap opens up again. The system transfers.

Can I use it during a shift?

It is designed to be worked through off the unit and used on it. The frameworks are built to be copied onto your own report sheet.

Calm isn’t luck. It’s strategy.

Start with the workbook and build the system yourself, or book a session and we build it together.
